Application for URI Physics Recitation Tutor
Becoming a recitation tutor is an appealing opportunity for students who are passionate about education and helping others learn.
Recitation tutors work with smaller classes that support the main lecture. They facilitate a more individualized learning experience for students. Recitation sessions provide an opportunity for students to work together on challenging problems, building conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. Tutors help students find, evaluate, and gain confidence in their answers.
Undergraduate students who are selected and successfully complete two semesters of tutoring with strong performance will receive a formal letter of recognition from the Department of Physics. This letter highlights your teaching excellence and professional development, and serves as a valuable credential when applying to graduate programs in physics or related fields, competitive research internships, education fellowships, and other academic or professional opportunities.
Only URI undergraduate students are eligible to become recitation tutors.
